Our interactive voice response systems and live operators regularly support thousands of calls in multiple languages including English, Spanish, French and German. In the $2.1 billion Volkswagen 2.0 Litre and 3.0 Litre Settlements our contact centre capabilities were on full display, as we handled over 1 million calls in several languages and were able to scale to several hundred live operators to efficiently handle the call volume.
In the Desjardins Settlement our live operators handled approximately 146,000 calls, totaling over 1 million minutes of call time. In the Netflix European Refund Administration matter, we deployed dedicated agents fluent in German and English to manage claimant calls from Austria. In the Steinhoff Global Settlement our live operators successfully communicated in over 20 different French dialects, to better accommodate claimants. We support calls globally across all time zones and maintain live operators in our US, Canada and UK call centres.
Verita has successfully received, processed, and validated tens of millions of claims. Internationally, our experience is unparalleled, having handled hundreds of thousands of claims in the Fortis and Steinhoff matters from across the EU, UK, and throughout the globe.
Recently, in the Netflix European Refund Administration, we facilitated the collection and validation of approximately 154,000 opt-in claims originating from a regulatory action in Austria. We seek to drive all claims through digital channels and claims are primarily filed electronically via case-specific, secure and intuitive online claim filing portals, which facilitates the claim filing process. In the Facebook Biometric Privacy Litigation, we handled approximately 1.572 million claims filed via a case-specific website. For complex claims that require additional evidence, supporting documentation is easily uploaded into our claimant system via the interactive website, which is then stored with the relevant claimant’s information. In the Canadian First Nation’s Flood Class Action we evaluated each individual claimants’ documentation describing damages and losses suffered because of flooding in the Government of Manitoba’s settlement with its impacted citizens. In the Boston Scientific Canadian Transvaginal Mesh Class Action, claimants were required to submit detailed and extensive medical records, which were then reviewed and verified by our case teams. Because confidential medical records were involved, our teams were trained to ensure compliance with HIPAA and other applicable privacy regulations.
When directed, in certain matters, if documentation is absent or incomplete, we initiate a deficiency process to notify claimants of the missing documentation and to afford them the opportunity to supplement or resubmit their claim. Whether filed via hard-copy or electronically, every claim and document is logged with its information securely stored in each case’s individual database.
On the most routine engagements, Verita handles and manages thousands of data points consisting of claimant data, claims information and supporting documentation, payment and other matter-specific data. Indeed, several of the most technologically advanced and privacy-sensitive companies have vetted and entrusted us with the safe handling of their client data.
The Facebook Biometric Privacy Information Litigation involved data for approximately 16.741 million Facebook users and other class members, used for disseminating notice, claims receipt and validation and making payments. In the Peters v. Apple matter, we successfully managed client data for over 10.6 million customers to effectuate notice, in a case involving the ability to use family sharing plans across certain applications. We recently worked successfully with Netflix to administer refunds for alleged overcharges to over 150,000 European claimants. And on the Experian Data Breach matter, Experian – one of the largest credit reporting companies in the United States – entrusted Verita with the secure handling of data for 15.926 million of its customers impacted by a data breach.

In the Fortis Securities Litigation Settlement, we successfully provided notice to claimants in 76 countries in more than 50 different languages. Among our recent matters, our team of professionals have provided notice to claimants in over 35 languages and in dozens of countries across the world.
For each matter, our notice experts will develop and implement a comprehensive notice plan carefully designed to reach as many claimants as possible. We utilize a diverse array of notice, including targeted digital advertising through widely used platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly known as Twitter), YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, Reddit and the Google Display Network, as well as print, radio and television advertising and email campaigns. Our experts have crafted and effectuated comprehensive notice programs to successfully reach tens of millions of claimants across all types of matters.
In the Steinhoff Group Settlement, international notices were published in over half of the EU Member States, across Africa, the Middle East and in several Asian countries. In the US, we regularly conduct massive email notice campaigns and can implement one here, if necessary. In the Anthem Data Breach, we emailed notice to over 80 million class members. In the Peters v. Apple Inc. matter, we sent over 21 million emails to class members and recently successfully emailed notice to over 15.372 million class members in the Facebook Biometric Information Privacy Litigation settlement.
When required, we also handle mailed notice campaigns and can accommodate the largest volumes. In the Experian Data Breach matter, we mailed printed notice to over 14.9 million class members across the United States. In the Martin v. Safeway settlement and the Springer v. Nissan North America, Inc. matter, we mailed approximately 4.089 million and 3.565 million notices, respectively.
