Jim brings two decades of corporate restructuring experience in his role as Vice President to provide claims, legal administration, and public securities services to Verita’s clients.

In his current role, Jim focuses on complex securities related transactions arising out of restructuring cases, such as securities solicitation, rights offerings, tender offers, loan syndications and distributions to securities holders. Some of these large engagements include Avaya Inc., Garrett Motion Inc., Windstream Holdings, Inc., 21st Century Oncology, rue21, Peabody Energy Corporation, Chaparral Energy, Swift Energy Company, Walter Energy and Alpha Natural Resources.

Jim also oversees the day-to-day management of chapter 11 cases, including pre-filing consultation, schedules and statement preparation, claims and noticing services, solicitation, and post-confirmation distributions. A list of his restructuring engagements includes, among others, Colt Holding Company, AMF Bowling Worldwide, THQ, Metro Affiliates, Paragon Offshore and School Specialty.

Prior to joining Verita, Jim worked as an associate at a corporate bankruptcy boutique law firm, where he represented debtors, post-confirmation trustees and chapter 7 panel trustees in all aspects of complex chapter 7 and 11 proceedings, including Dewey & LeBoeuf, Grubb & Ellis Company and Loehmann’s Holdings. Jim was also a student law clerk for the Honorable Stuart M. Bernstein, former Chief Bankruptcy Judge for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

Jim received his Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School, where he was awarded the Professor Philip K. Yonge Memorial Prize for Exceptional Achievement in Bankruptcy, and his Bachelor of Arts in Economics and International Relations from Colgate University. He is licensed to practice law in the states of New York and New Jersey and is admitted to the bar of the United States District Court, Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and District of New Jersey.

As a Managing Director at Verita, Kevin has over 20 years of experience in the corporate claims administration industry representing debtors, creditors, committees and trustees in insolvency and restructuring matters. Throughout his career, he has developed a wide range of experience in bankruptcy administration as well as a comprehensive understanding of the impact of insolvency on current business operations. He has overseen the administration of numerous bankruptcy matters including cases such as Exide Technologies, Corus Bankshares, Inc., Bigler, LP, Dewey Ranch Hockey, LLC (Phoenix Coyotes), Sea Containers Ltd., InSight Health Services Holdings Corp. and WR Grace.

In joining Verita’s public securities team, Kevin’s varied securities background makes him instrumental in the management of cases requiring publicly traded securities expertise and providing administrative management for complex securities transactions, tender offers, exchange offers, rights offers, securities holder solicitations, proxies and communication.

Kevin also has experience in all aspects of claims administration and case management, including prepetition planning, noticing, Schedules and SOFA preparation, claims reconciliation, solicitation, distribution, and post-effective date projects.

In his previous role, Kevin prepared business and market analysis for merger and acquisition transactions as well as performed marketability assessments and strategic buyer research.

Kevin received his Bachelor of the Arts degree from San Diego State University. He has been a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) and the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) and has held Securities Licenses Series 6 and 63.

Jeff brings more than 20 years of corporate restructuring experience to his role as Managing Director where he provides claims and legal administration services to Verita’s clients. His broad range of experience includes managing chapter 11 matters, rights offerings, creditor committee engagements and facilitating asset sales through the use of virtual data rooms.

Jeff has worked on several notable chapter 11 cases including Alpha Natural Resources, Inc., Brookstone, Inc., IEH Auto Parts Holding, LLC, Erickson Incorporated, Midstates Petroleum Company, Inc., Penson Worldwide, Inc., and Swift Energy Company.

Jeff graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

Joe brings over two decades of chapter 11 experience to his role as Vice President. Joe oversees the noticing and claims administration on a wide range of the nation’s most complex corporate restructuring engagements.

Joe has worked on numerous multifaceted chapter11 engagements including Wesco Aircraft Holdings, Inc. (Incora), Proterra Inc, Avianca Holdings S.A., Avaya Inc., Stage Stores, Inc., Hostess Brands, Eastman Kodak, Residential Capital, Alpha Natural Resources, and Cobalt International Energy.

Joe plays an integral role in each engagement managing the daily noticing and claims administration processes, preparing Schedules and SOFA, and producing comprehensive noticing to creditors through to plan confirmation and disbursement. While managing these data-intensive cases, Joe continues to develop processes to efficiently administer Verita’s current mega cases and growing client list.

Joe graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Management and Business Law.

Jennifer brings over a decade of corporate restructuring experience involving domestic and international public securities to her role as Director.

Jennifer oversees all aspects of securities related transactions such as balloting and solicitation, rights offerings, tender offers, and distributions to securities holders. Some of her recent engagements include Avaya Inc, Avianca Holdings, Superior Energy, and Extraction Oil & Gas.

Prior to joining Verita, Jennifer held securities administrative positions at a claims agent and Innisfree M&A Inc., where she led and oversaw the tabulation and balloting for complex solicitation assignments including World Com, Lehman Brothers, Calpine, Delta Airlines, and Enron. Jennifer earned her Bachelors degree in Finance from California State University, Fullerton.

Angela brings considerable claims and noticing experience to her role as Managing Director. She leads Verita’s Corporate Restructuring disbursement team and coordinates the Trustee & Fiduciary Services client accounts.

Angela received a Masters in Archaeology from the University of California at Los Angeles and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology from the University of California at San Diego.

As Managing Director, Michael leads the claims and noticing processes for Verita’s corporate restructuring engagements across diverse industries, including retail, energy, and manufacturing.

With nearly two decades of claims and noticing experience, Michael has overseen the day-to-day case management of numerous restructuring cases, including the City of Detroit, Eddie Bauer, Speedcast International, and Westinghouse Electric Company. He supervises all aspects of the bankruptcy process, including noticing, claims administration, preparation of SOFAs and Schedules, solicitation, and distribution of funds to creditors.

Michael is a member of Verita’s User Acceptance Team (UAT), contributing to the development and ongoing enhancement of the company’s technology systems. In addition, he creates training materials for Verita’s internal education program, including advanced Excel courses.

Michael received his Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School and an LL.M. in Estate Planning with honors from Golden Gate University. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Economics and Psychology from the University of Michigan.

As Director, Sydney oversees claims administration, coordinates contract review and daily noticing, and maintains large-scale creditor matrix databases, prepares Schedules and SOFAs, and tabulates ballots for the voting certification. Sydney trains new consultants in mailings, maintaining service lists, and preparing affidavits of service.

Sydney has worked on many cases, including Cano Health, Mountain Express Oil, Borrego Community Health, PGX (Credit Repair), Avianca Holdings, Stage Stores, Melinta Therapeutics, Rubie’s Costume Co, Perkins and Marie Callender’s, Waypoint Leasing, Toisa, and Real Mex.

Sydney earned her Bachelor of Arts in History and a Minor in Near Eastern Languages & Cultures from the University of California, Los Angeles.

As a Senior Managing Director of Corporate Restructuring and Trustee & Fiduciary Services (TFS), Michelle brings over two decades of industry experience to the Verita business development team. Her expertise in working with clients in a broad range of industries and asset categories and her experience working with top insolvency professionals, has provided her with a keen ability to match her client’s needs with Verita’s service offerings. Michelle manages key client relationships and facilitates the growth of new engagements. Before Verita, Michelle worked as the Director of Business Development for a financial advisory firm, and prior to that, she was a Vice President at a global fiduciary and technology services provider within the Corporate Restructuring industry.

Michelle is an active member of the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI), the Turnaround Management Association (TMA), the TMA Network of Women (TMA NOW), the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC), the Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors (AIRA) and the National Association of Federal Equity Receivers (NAFER). Previously, Michelle has served as IWIRC Co-Chair for the Southern California chapter and Events Chair from 2013-2016, President in 2018 for the Southern California Chapter of TMA, Vice President in 2017, and Vice President of Programs from 2014-2016. Additionally, she has sat on the TMA Global Board of Trustees from 2018-2021, served as Co-Chair on the Committee for Membership in the TMA Chicago/Midwest Chapter, and as Co-Chair of the 2023 AIRA Annual Conference. She was also appointed to the 2024 ABI and AIRA regional conference planning committees. Michelle currently serves as the TMA Global Co-Chair for NOW and is a TMA Board of Trustees member.

She holds a Political Science and Criminal Justice degree from Texas State University.

Leanne brings over 15 years of claims and noticing experience to her role as Vice President. She has led and managed several restructuring cases including AgileThought, Invitae Corporation, Skillsoft Corporation, Philippines Airlines, Blockbuster Inc., Charter Communications, Inc., Eddie Bauer Holdings, Inc., and Grubb & Ellis Company. Leanne supervises Consultants and Senior Consultants on several of Verita’s corporate restructuring engagements, oversees the daily noticing and claims administration processes, prepares Schedules and SOFA, manages ballot tabulation, and coordinates creditor disbursements.

Leanne graduated cum laude from the University of California, Los Angeles, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.

Vanessa brings two decades of chapter 11 experience to her role as Vice President. Vanessa manages aspects of the Operations and Restructuring Support Services (RSS) teams including training, facilitating growth and development, and evaluating performance. She also creates, revises and reviews procedures, policies and materials for the RSS, Operations and Consulting departments.

Vanessa has worked on numerous multifaceted chapter 11 engagements including Delphi, Residential Capital, Kodak, Circuit City, Blockbuster and City of Detroit.

Vanessa graduated from Loyola Marymount University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.
